The lever drive mechanism (11), for the adjustment of a vehicle seat position, has a manual drive lever (17) which acts on a drive take-off lever (21). It also acts on at least one transfer unit (25) which gives a movement to the take-off lever from the drive lever torque, with a reduction ratio set according to the transmitted torque. The transfer unit has two arms, with a shorter arm engaging the drive lever and a longer arm acting on the take-off lever, using pins in slit guides (17',26,21',27).
