Production of a water-repellent finish on glueless laminates comprises coating them with a composition comprising a drying oil, a siccative and a wax. An independent claim is also included for use of a composition comprising 60-95 wt.% drying oil, 5-40 wt.% wax, 0.3-10 wt.% siccative, 0.1-1.5 wt.% wetting agent and 0.2-1.5 wt.% antifoam to produce a water-repellent finish on glueless laminate floor elements in the tongue and groove region and on cut edges.
