Method for measuring disruptions in the autonomic nervous system of humans or animals by automatic determination of the travel time between exit of the blood into a blood vessel and the corresponding pulse pressure wave and its arrival at matching positions on either the left or right hand side of the body, e.g. the ear lobe or wrist. Independent claims are made for measurement arrangements for automatic determination of the pulse travel time to similar points on different sides of the body and separate points on the same side of the body.
