Covered by a protective sleeve (1) formed as a barrier impact surface, a small magnet (2) fits in a coil (5) in a springy manner. A single drop of rain falling on the protective sleeve presses the magnet downwards. Shortly after, the magnet springs back up into its output position. Pressure exerted briefly downwards lets the magnet bob up and down while controlled in a guide tube (4) wounded round with the coil. The bobbing up and down of the magnet causes an induction voltage .The magnet can spring back up because it is kept suspended by a counter-poled repulsing magnet (7). Voltage can be picked up at the end (8) of the coil.
