Devices for formation of protection space for lifts without machine space with a reduced shaft, consist of a retractable apron and extendable safety sets plus safety contacts and sensors. The retractable apron (2) is designed as a stable frame (5) open upwards which is slid in guides mounted on the cabin or in the shaft head. Between the lateral frame bars of the apron, lamella cross-profiles (6) are attached, guided in sliding fashion by the frame bars and connected with elastic material (7). When the frame is pushed upwards into the guides, they are pressed together correspondingly. The unlocked apron mounted on the cabin, when it touches the shaft floor, retracts automatically through the cabin movement.
