Method involves one or more measurement rounds. In each round the persons are given a number of possible solutions to a problem. Each person selects a number of alternative solutions that is less than the total number of possible solutions. After each round all participants are advised of the selections of previous rounds. This feedback information is used in assessing peoples' ability to make independent decisions. The invention also relates to corresponding use of the method in selection of personnel to complete a job or task based on their selection criteria.
