Rigid, flexible, or soft plane layers (3) can be positioned between the layers of connected chambers (1) of various sizes. A holding or supporting element like a rope can be integrated in the structure. The material used can be transparent, fluorescent, insulating, or particularly tough according to the intended use, for instance as a tent, a soft top for a vehicle or a boat, or a temporary roof for a production plant.
