The sawblade mounting device secures one end of the sawblade (28) to a first arm (14) of the parallelogram saw, via a pendulum sawblade clamp (38) pivoted to the first arm and a further arm (36), exhibiting an increase in its length upon an applied loading. The further arm extends parallel to the first arm on the opposite side to the second arm (18) of the parallelogram saw and is supported by a pivot axis (43) parallel to the pivot axes (12,16) of the first and second arms. The sawblade clamp has an insertion slit for the end of the sawblade and a screw (48) for clamping the sawblade end.
