Pyrolysis method for ecological disposal of scrap particulate rubber and plastic, particularly tire scrap, involves heating both inside and outside of an internal reactor containing the materials
Pyrolysis method, involves heating both inside and outside of an internal reactor containing the materials. Scrap material passes downward through a vertical reactor and is heated to 400-950 deg C to effect pyrolysis. Heating of the material can be both indirect by a preheated gas passed over the outer surface of an internal reactor vessel (1.8) and also direct through a permanent gas fed into the inner reactor. This results in sudden rapid heating of the scrap to the process temperature immediately after it has been fed into the inner reactor. Independent claims are made for: (a) a pyrolysis reactor with an external vertical cylindrical vessel (1.1) as a heating chamber (1.15) and an internal reactor vessel whose upper region includes a spiral tube (1.12) with nozzles and/or annular gaps running along the inner wall of the inner vessel to supply permanent gas into the reactor; (b) a jet condenser for fractionation condensation of the pyrolysis gas flows which comprises condensation modules adjacent to or above one another whose operating temperatures can be set independently of each other by heat exchangers; and (c) plant for indirect or direct thermal processing of particulate rubber and plastic scrap which includes the claimed reactor and condenser.
