The vehicle has at least one left and right drive wheel, each driven by at least one electric motor (14,16) and gearbox containing a mechanical, continuously adjustable gear unit (50,52) with two bevel pulley pairs (60,62; 64,66; 68,70; 72,74) and a belt element. Each drive wheel can have two associated electric motors that drive the wheel in common via separate gear units, a pair of pulleys being mounted on a common output shaft per gear unit.
