The production of polymer and polymer mixture membranes comprises melting the polymers in a forming unit in an extruder (11), and supplying gas (14) to form a foam at a nozzle (12) at the end of the process line (15). The nozzle temperature is controlled according to the polymer used, and is about 310[deg]C for polyethersulfone and 183[deg]C for polycarbonate. The production of polymer and polymer mixture membranes comprises melting the polymers in a forming unit in an extruder (11), and supplying gas (14) to form a foam at a nozzle (12) at the end of the process line (15). The nozzle temperature is controlled according to the polymer used, and is about 310[deg]C for polyethersulfone and 183[deg]C for polycarbonate. The process line has a number of temperature zones. The gas used is CO2 and it is supplied in an amount of 1-15 wt.% of the polymer.
