The pressure relief valve has a shut-off component (7) and valve component (2) which in the region of the flow passage (6) has a plane sealing face (9) formed by facing end faces (8,5) of the shut-off component and valve component. The flow passage is formed as a bore in the valve component. The end face of the shut-off component forming the sealing face, in the region of the flow passage, is larger than the flow passage and smaller than the end face of the valve component.
