The method involves illuminating the object, especially using a linear polarized light source, preferably a laser, and lens device(s) to vary the beam area and/or diameter and/or to modulate it and/or the modulated area to record a visual product or video information, preferably on a printing formed. At least one lens with electrically variable focal length is used. Optical arrangement(s) based on the principle of domain inversion can be used. Independent claims are also included for an arrangement for illuminating an object with a light source to record a visual product.
