The method involves providing essence data (7) on a remote server (3) containing at least part of the data, encoding the essence data, transmitting it to a local computer (1) to which the user has access, storing the coded data on a local data medium, decoding the coded essence data while running a data processing program (2) on the local computer and reproducing the data via an output device while running the data processing program.
