Monitor for a running yarn, at a textile machine, has a yarn guide linked to a tension sensor, to give an accurate yarn tension measurement at any time point without resonance interference
To monitor a running yarn at a textile machine, and especially a plying machine, a force measurement is taken in direct proportion to the yarn (2) tension. The measured force is converted into an electrical signal for evaluation. To monitor a moving yarn, at a textile machine, the electrical signal from the force measurement is taken from a variable electrical resistance as a result of the pressure from the yarn tension. The measurement signal is taken as an actual value, to be compared with a reference value. If the deviation breaches a threshold, a signal is generated for processing at a control unit. The reference value is derived from an input set, and storage in memory of the electrical signal values which are proportional to measured forces, to give the textile machine a stable working condition. The reference value can also be the average value of a number of measurements, released by an external signal or a manual operation. An Independent claim is included for a running yarn monitor with a tension sensor (6) and a yarn guide (1). A thin film force register is the tension-sensitive unit in the assembly. Preferred Features: The tension sensor is on a carrier which resists bending. The yarn guide is at a fixed guide path (3), with the sensor carrier, and the yarn guide is in direct contact with the tension sensor or is bonded to it by an adhesive, or it is integrated into the sensor. The yarn guide can also be in contact with the tension sensor through an intermediate component (8). The yarn guide and the tension sensor are shrouded wholly or partially by an additional housing of the evaluation circuit.
