The invention relates to a thermal shielding (12) for liquid helium supply systems, particularly in line systems for supplying the superconducting magnets required for generating magnetic fields in particle accelerator installations. The thermal shielding (12) is connected to one of the pipes of the supply system, through which a cooling medium flows, while forming an integral unit. This pipe (20), on both sides, comprises integrally connecting strip-shaped wall sections (44), which have an arched cross-section and which collectively form a continuous wall part (42) of the thermal shielding that surrounds the pipes only in a lower partial area of the cylindrical shell. This lower continuous wall part is completed by shell sections (48) to form a closed cylindrical shell. Said shell sections are made of a material with a good thermal conductivity, they follow one another in a longitudinal direction, and are attached in a thermally conductive manner to the free edges of the lower continuous wall part.
