Continuous press, for the production of boards, has two continuous steel belts supported by carpets of roller roads against the heated/cooled press plates to give very wide pressed boards
The continuous press has two steel belts (5, 5', 6, 6') moving continuously through the press (1) to press together an over-width or two material mats (17, 18). The continuous press has belt running control rollers for each steel belt, with control systems. Each steel belt has a separate carpet of roller rods, for support against the hot press plates (11), across the whole press plate width. The heated/cooled press plates are in one piece across their width. Hardened roller plates (14) form rolling surfaces for the carpets of roller rods (13). They are in two or more sections across the width of the press plates. The steel belt deflection drums and drive drums, as common belt deflectors, extend over the press plate width. The belt drive drums act as belt defection and tensioning drums. The heated/cooled press plates have channel drillings for the passage of heating/cooling media, along the length of the press production stage. They can be divided into a number of heating/cooling fields over the press plate width, to apply different temperatures to the board materials. The press assembly can have a center saw, to cut a gap in the board material at the dividing point between the steel belts. The press can have two independent material spreading stations, next to each other or in succession, to form two material mats on the shaping belt with a gap between them.
