The packaging unit (4) has a number of reels (1) stacked side-by-side and above one another, their abutting longitudinal side surfaces held in contact by binders (17), secured around the outside of the stack, with the hollow spaces (11) between the reels provided with hollow cylinders (13), used for reception of the lifting forks (14) of a fork lift truck (15).
