Cleaning composition comprises a halogenated ether foaming agent (I). Cleaning composition comprises a halogenated ether foaming agent of formula (I). R1-O-R2 (I) R1 and/or R2 = halogenated alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl or aryl groups optionally substituted with other substituents. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a ready-to-use product comprising a container that is filled with the cleaning composition and has a device with at least one outlet opening for applying the composition; (2) a cleaning foam produced by applying the cleaning composition to an article to be cleaned; and (3) a method for cleaning upholstery, textiles and/or hard surfaces, comprising: (a) at least partly covering the article to be cleaned by applying the cleaning composition; (b) allowing the composition to foam spontaneously; (c) removing the foam and enveloped soil particles; (d) optionally working residual cleaning composition into the article to generate more foam; (e) again removing the foam and enveloped soil particles; and (f) optionally repeating steps (d) and/or (e).
