In a seed treatment composition (I) containing a film-former for producing a disinfectant-retaining film on the seed surface, the film former consists of dried blood containing (wt.%) water (9-12), 57-71% red blood pigments (57-71, based on pure dried blood), fat (less than 0.45) and lecithin (more than 1.2).
