The device has an especially RJ45 format plug connector (3) for insertion into a corresponding socket in an electrical device and a wire guide element (4) for inserting the individual wires of the cable (2) into their contacting positions in the connector. The wire guide element has a cable accommodation region and a one-piece wire guiding region bounding on the cable accommodation region.
