The mechanism has an ink feed roller, an ink take-up roller, a lever for periodic reciprocal movement of an intermediate roller between the feed and take-up rollers and an adjuster for adjusting the intermediate roller in a position in which it is simultaneously touching the feed and take-up rollers. The adjuster is attached to the first lever so that the intermediate roller can be adjusted relative to the first lever by the adjuster. The mechanism has an ink feed roller (3), an ink take-up roller (5), a first lever (16) for periodic reciprocal movement of an intermediate roller (4) between the feed and take-up rollers and an adjustment device (23,24) for adjusting the intermediate roller in a position in which it is simultaneously touching the feed and take-up rollers. The adjustment device is attached to the first lever so that the intermediate roller can be adjusted relative to the first lever by the adjustment device.
