The sorting and storage system for recyclable materials comprises a row of bins (3a - 3c) for different types of material with a common lid (13). This contains sloping conveyors (5a -5b) of predetermined lengths and angles which tip material into each of the bins in turn. Mixed material is fed on to these from a hopper (9) with several feed pipes (45a - 45c).
