The base (2) of a thick, thermally conductive ceramic material (AbO3 or AlN) also acts as the substrate. It's upper side accommodates the electronic components and associated connection systems. On the underside a metallisation layer (16) is applied to which a heat sink (3) is secured by soldering. This consists of rows of corrugated strips of thin corrugated aluminium, sinusoidal in profile, displaced to one another to form flow channels (18) cooled by the motor cooling medium.
