The folding shutter has horizontal slats (4) mounted to swivel between the vertical arms (3) of the frame by means of bearing pivots (5) which protrude axially at the ends of the slats to engage rotationally in holes (7) set in the frame arms (3) themselves and protrude into the hollow space (9) in the inside of the frame arm. At one end of the slats the protrusions (10) of the pivots pointing in the same direction and engaging in the same arm are each connected positively with an actuating element (11) mounted rotatable in the frame arm together with the pivot. The actuating elements engage in articulation on two parallel actuating rods and by rotating the actuating elements can be moved mutually up and down and adjusted in spacing so that an imaginary connecting line where the actuating rods connect with the actuating element runs through the centre of the pivot.
