The connector has a socket (12) of an electrical device provided with a plastics housing (13) fitted to a circuit board, incorporating electrical contacts (14), cooperating with corresponding contacts of a lead cable plug (11) for connecting the latter to conductor paths of the circuit board. The front end of the lead cable plug has at least one spring locking tongue (17) engaging a locking element (16) provided adjacent the front end of the socket and formed by an indent in a spring plate (18) acting as a clip extending across the width of the lead cable plug on the opposite side to the electrical contacts.
