The method involves measuring the winding currents of an electrical machine (1) with its stator windings (6) arranged in a triangle circuit using current sensors. At least one current sensor operates on the principle of voltage measurement on a shunt resistance. The largest possible shunt resistance is used for which the maximum permissible power loss will not be exceeded during the measurement.
