The device for the orientation of a packing drum (4) has rotatable centering stars (1) on both sides of the drum's transporting path. The stars by the points of their arms come to bear on the outer side of the drum and by a toothed belt drive (2) revolve synchronously but contra-rotating. Freely rotatable rollers (7) are installed on the points of the stars' arms. The relative spacing of the centering stars is adjustable. The revolving motion of the centering stars is effected by the incoming drum.
