Production of glass parts comprises injecting a viscous glass mass into a lower tool; and pressing the glass by placing the upper tool on the lower tool. The process steps can be coupled together. An Independent claim is also included for an apparatus for carrying out the process comprising upper and lower tools with a handling robot fixed to the lower tool. Preferred Features: The lower tool is moved by the handling robot. Both the tools are supported during the pressing process by a handling robot.
