The tool has several circumferentially spaced pre-cutting blades (2) arranged round the circumference of the tool body (1) and with radially acting edges whilst secondary cutting blades (4) have axially acting edges. Each cutting blade has a dedicated chipping space (3,5) whose volumes are different from each other so that the larger spaces are allotted to the cutting blades having the larger chipping surface. The chipping spaces open alternately to each other axial side (A,B).
