A grooved stripping roller (9) in the roll (2,3) contact area rotates in a housing which is fitted with two cleaning fluid connections (12,13). The roller (9) grooves can be depressed or raised in profile and terminate at their outer end in a stripping peak. The grooves can be straight or spiraled in relation to the roller long axis (9) and the roller is powered via a transmission gear off the main roll drive (4) or again by the rolls (2,3) themselves. Cleaning fluid comes in via connection (12) joined to housing nozzles and the fluid leaves via pumped outlet connection (13). Fluid flow in both directions can be regulated in pressure and/or volume and/or duration.
