The plastic decorative wheel cover has a disc component (12) and a metal cap (18) which by its annular edge section fits over the disc component. An annular radially extending free space is formed between the disc component and outer edge section of the cover. The cap in its radially inner lying edge section is centered on the disc component, and is held on the disc component by flanging of its edge sections. A radially outer reinforcing component lying on the edge section of the cap is located in the free space. An Independent claim is included for a procedure for the manufacture of a decorative wheel cover.
