Fastening and contact device for an electricity meter that has an isolating device that is set according to phase, so that during mounting of the meter it is positioned so that the contacts of a controllable bridging device short circuit the supply and output connections according to the mounting position of the meter. The fastening and contact device is as described in DE 10054 77a and has electrical contacts on the top, bottom or rear sides according to where it is to be mounted on the electricity meter.
