The invention relates to a drop cap (10) for dosing the amount of liquid in the form of drops in a container (1), whereby the contents thereof which are to be dosed can be put under pressure. A throttling device is arranged (30) in the direction of flow upstream from the input opening (21) of the output channel (20) arranged in the body of the cap (11) in order to ensure that a predetermined drop volume is maintained in a reliable manner particularly when large drops are present, whereby said volume should be independent from the pressure applied from the liquid. Said throttling device (30) can be embodied as a permeable opening (31) in an additional separating wall (34). The invention also relates to a container (1, 1') comprising a drop cap (10, 10').
