The demonstration device comprises a release device (6) with a storage space (13), a lower body capture and removal device (17) and a down pipe in which bodies fall under gravity. At least two bodies can be placed in the storage space. The down pipe contains two or more contact-free sensors (8) for measuring the time of flight of the falling bodies. The device has a connection (15) for a vacuum pump. An Independent claim is made for a similar device with a release device and a sloping roll path.
