The ejector (14) for removing cartridges or cartridge cases from a shotgun has a locking pin (21) which locks the ejector in the breech (2). A guide pin (26) surrounded by a biasing spring (27) is mounted in front of this, both pins being fitted in a central bore in the ejector. The guide pin can be moved by a slide (31) in the breech.
