Method for input of an authentication code in which a sequence of images are displayed on a display device with each image displayed for a limited time duration. Each image or part of an image has a code assigned to it. The authentication code is calculated from the image codes or a time value. As an example, if a user wishes to enter a PIN or password an array of ten images are portrayed on a screen. The user knows which image is associated with which number of letter and so simply clicks on a sequence of images to enter a PIN or password.
