Glazing unit has a gas-filled space (12) between a first pane (10), on the interior side of the building, and a second pane (20), an electrochromic array (24) on the second pane and a third pane (30) on the exterior side. The novelty is that at least the first and/or third pane consists of one-ply safety glass or partly prestressed glass or is provided with a composite safety array (40, 42).
