Apparatus for recording image and sound data, preferably in digital format, has a sensor device for capture of image and sound data and an output unit for output of the captured data. Between sensor unit and output unit is an arrangement for encryption of the captured sound or image data. An Independent claim is made for a method for recording digital image and sound data with an encryption step to ensure that the recorded data cannot be falsely altered, prior to an output unit.
