Detecting molecular binding by introducing a transparent substrate (1), replacing the usual photographic film, where the substrate carries an affinity sensor onto which indicators are bonded by couplers, at individual locations (2), which comprise functionalized nanoparticles, forming a nanoparticle layer, and their absorption behavior permits positions of binding locations to be detected.
