The assembly to collect rain water, for use, has a cistern (1) to hold the rain water carried in through an inflow pipe (7) and a filter (8). The cistern has a unit (3) to take off the stored water. The filter is cleaned from time to time by a pump (6), which takes water from the cistern to generate a flushing flow, to carry removed dirt into a soiled water outflow (10). The filter cleaning action is triggered by a sensor in the flow pipe to the filter, to register a water level backed up through a clogged filter.
