Apparatus (3) for cleaning cold surfaces uses a gas flow for the cleaning, drying and sterilizing of the surface. Gas, under pressure, is compressed air or liquid nitrogen, to be sprayed by jets (4) with a gas temperature of 0-50 deg C. Any liquid or frozen water on the surface is removed without raising the surface temperature. Contaminated condensation (7) is caught, separated, and sterilized.
