The running rail system for roof travel mechanisms has a locking rib (2) located on the running rail (1). The running rail itself is integrated into a support profile (5) by means of a load bearing member and a support member. A guide member with a guide profile is located on one longitudinal side of the support profile, and a guide rib with a guide slot is provided on the other longitudinal side. The upper edge of the guide member is connected to the support member, and both the guide member and also the guide rib are interconnected on their lower edges by a lower flange. A stiffening rib is located on the lower flange between the guide member and guide rib and by its upper edge runs into the load bearing member formed from the stiffening rib and a cover member and which is connected to the running rail.
