The multimedia appts. contains a rear wall circuit board unit with numerous connectors, each with a certain signal form. There is a main circuit board unit plugged into connector at rear wall to process an MPEG data current from an extension circuit board, and to select an extension card. An extension circuit board can be inserted into any connector the rear wall circuit board, with the exception of the one into which the main circuit board unit has been plugged, to transfer the MPEG data current, processed by independent module, to the main circuit board unit after selection. Independent claims are included for extension process of functions of a multimedia appts.
