Method for quality control in bodywork finishing and assembly uses a production robot with a measurement device (7) with the coordinates determined relative to a reference point (9) relative to the robot. The measurement device can then be used to determine the coordinates of a measurement point of a bodywork component (3, 4). Any differences between measured and design coordinate values can thus be determined. An Independent claim is made for a system for determining the coordinates of a bodywork component using a measurement device mounted using a production robot clamp, so that measured values can be compared with CAD values.
