In a steel-framed structure the staminal potential of a basic profile for the parallel working load pretension M1 is 'sacrificed'. This results in pre-pre deformation f1, reducing the M1 + M2 working load. During load application M1 + M2, the bending force is f2, in lieu of prior art f1 + f2. The ultimate load is thus defined by the full staminal potential.
