The engine piston (4) has a stroke corresponding to approx. 50-70% of the piston diameter. The compression chamber (15) in the piston is located in a recessed piston head (16). The cylinder head (8) closes the cylinder (3) with a flat base (18). The cylinder housing (7) has at least one outlet channel (13) to overflow channel (12) for each cylinder, which are diametrically positioned. Due to this, scavenging of the cylinder takes place with almost direct cross flow of the fresh gas. The cylinder head has two spark plugs (19) and the motor is operated with dual ignition.
