Method for optical stimulation of the visual system for examination of the perimeter. For optical stimulation stepped light intensities are used, temporal variation of the spatial pattern used as a light stimulus is set in response to the visual system's response to the stimuli, i.e. a feedback mechanism, and signal processing methods are used to test and analyze the response to the stimuli. An Independent claim is made for a method for automatic functional control of the visual system.
