The assembly to cool electronic components (8) has a heat pipe (1) with a cool end (2) and a warm end (3) which is connected to a heat exchanger (4), and a cooling body (7) which carries the electronic components in a conductive link with the pipe cool end. The electronic component and the cooling body form a component unit, in a release plug fitting at the pipe cool end for exchange. The cooling system for electronic components, or a switch box, has a clamp opening and at least one clamp to plug into the cool end of the pipe and slide into a clamped position where they are held together. The clamping opening is a drilling with an expanded clamping slit so that the drilling is initially larger than the outer diameter of the pipe. Two clamping flanges at the slit give the clamping action against the pipe. A clamping screw passes through the slit, or a clip pivots on a clamping flange to clamp and lock the cooling body at the second clamping flange. The clamping position is defined by a limit stop (6), fixed at the pipe. The cooling body is mounted to a number of parallel pipes. The cooling body is a plate, with a number of parallel thick points, each with a clamp to hold a pipe. An Independent claim is included for a switch box, for a number of electronic components, with the cooling pipe secured to the rear wall of its housing. The warm end of the pipe is within a heat exchanger, and the cool end extends into the housing. The pipe is held tightly against the housing wall by screw fasteners. Preferred Features: The housing has a cooling shaft, where a fan blows coolant air at the heat exchanger.
