For the control of a texturizing machine, where the texturized yarn is wound on to a bobbin, actuators set the yarn guides at each stage e.g. winding, bobbin doffing. A control chain is set for each operating stage, with a sequence of control steps to control the actuators. For the control of bobbin winding, for a texturized yarn, the control chains are given by a control program for each operating condition, with sequences of control steps within each chain. A control command for all or some of the actuators is held within each control step in the control chain. A control step has a command signal for a sensor. The control step sequence, in a control chain, is at given step time intervals, and the sequence is determined by the evaluation of the signals from one or more sensors. The sequence of control steps, within a control chain, can be interrupted by one or more branch steps to give a change to another control chain or advance the step chain. It can interrupt one or more control chains. An Independent claim is included for the bobbin winder, to wind a texturized yarn (1) into a bobbin (2), with a number of actuators (6,9,11,17) to guide the yarn through the winding stages. A control unit (19) has a number of outputs (20), linked to the actuators, to operate them from a control program. Preferred Features: The control unit has a number of inputs (21), linked tot he sensors (15,18). The control (13) for the actuator to set the reciprocating yarn guide(12) movement is connected to an input at the control unit. The control unit has a keyboard (22), for the input of data to modify the control program. The control unit is connected to the central machine control. The texturizing machine has a number of bobbin winders, to wind a number of yarns into bobbins, and the actuators at the winding stations are connected to the control.
